Redshirt freshman tight end Kyle Carter will miss the rest of the season with a wrist injury, O'Brien said on Tuesday.

Carter, who has 36 receptions for 453 yards and is second on second on the team in both categories, hurt the wrist while attempting to catch a pass against Nebraska on Saturday. He had hurt his knee two weeks earlier against Ohio State.

O'Brien said Carter's emergence this year was impressive, saying that tight end was the hardest position to learn in his offense other than quarterback.
