Penn State's O'Brien taps McGloin as starting quarterback

Senior Matt McGloin will be Penn State's starting quarterback.
Coach Bill O'Brien made the announcement today at the Coaches vs. Cancer Golf Tournament at the Penn State Blue and White Golf Courses in University Park.
McGloin played in all 12 regular-season games last year for Penn State, throwing for 1,571 yards, eight touchdowns and five interceptions.
"He was the most consistent guy throughout the spring," O'Brien said. "He has good command of the offense at this point."
On his recent coaching caravan, O'Brien said he wanted to make a decision between McGloin, Rob Bolden and Paul Jones by the end of May. The three had split reps with the first team in spring practices nearly equally.
Jones will be the No. 2 quarterback, O'Brien said. He also said that he planned to release a depth chart on Tuesday.
