Penn State football team freshman running back Akeel Lynch was charged Friday with misdemeanor criminal mischief after damaging a window at a campus dormitory in November, university police said.

Penn State police chief Tyrone Parham said a window of the Shulze Hall dormitory was damaged Nov. 16 after Lynch kicked it.

The charge was not filed until Friday, Parham said.

A Penn State spokesman said he had no information about any possible discipline Lynch might face from the football team.

Lynch did not play this past season.

Nov. 16 was a Friday, the day before Penn State played a home game against Indiana.
