Penn State's demolition of Iowa on Saturday night is continuing to bring attention to the team. Today, defensive tackle Jordan Hill was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and tight end Kyle Carter was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week.

Hill finished with nine tackles, two for loss, and a sack. Memorably, his third quarter sack caused the Iowa fans to boo their own team.

Carter had six receptions for 85 yards - all in the first half. The 85 yards were a career high .

Hill's award gives Penn State four defensive player of the week honors this year, with linebacker Michael Mauti winning two and linebacker Gerald Hodges winning one. Defensive end Deion Barnes has also been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
