Penn State football Q&A with Ron Musselman

Q: Like most Penn State fans, I was very excited when Pat Devlin opted to come to Penn State. Everything I've read and heard about him indicates that he is a real talent -- perhaps one of the best prospects Penn State has ever had at the QB position. Given Anthony Morelli's very mediocre play during the past two years, is there any chance we'll see Devlin play some this year? What's your evaluation of Devlin's potential?
Jerry, North Potomac, N.J.
MUSSELMAN: Devlin was one of the top prep quarterbacks in the country at Downingtown East High School. He broke the state passing record for career yardage with 8,162. As a senior, he threw for more than 3,000 yards and 35 touchdowns. However, Devlin is now the No. 3 quarterback for Penn State and it's unlikely he will get much playing time this year as a redshirt freshman. Daryll Clark is running No. 2 behind Morelli right now.
