Q: It's been frustrating reading some of the national pundits as they rip Penn State for its poor non-conference schedule.

MUSSELMAN: The non-conference schedule often is made up years in advance, but the fact remains -- the three teams Penn State has beaten are a combined 2-7 and the team they play Saturday --- Temple -- is 1-2. Coastal Carolina is 1-2 with a win over Monmouth. Oregon State is 1-2 with a win over Hawaii. Syracuse is 0-3 and looking like it might not beat anyone. And Temple has a win over Army in the opening week and back-to-back losses on the final play of the game the last two weeks.
