Pitt freshman fullback taken to hospital

Pitt football player Derrick Burns was hospitalized Tuesday with an unspecified medical condition, according to a statement released by the school's athletic department.
Burns, a 5-foot-11, 235-pound redshirt freshman fullback, was listed in stable condition Tuesday night. More information about his condition was expected after tests were completed.
Pitt athletes took to their Twitter accounts Tuesday asking for prayers for Burns and his family.
From quarterback Tino Sunseri: "Y'all pray for my teammate Derrick Burns! He's in the hospital right now and needs all the prayers he can get!"
From tight end Hubie Graham: "Please pray for my Pitt teammate Derrick Burns."
Burns is a native of New Wilmington, Pa., and attended Wilmington High School. He redshirted in 2010 and played in one game last season.
Burns rushed for 2,632 yards and scored 44 touchdowns in his final two seasons at Wilmington High School. He was selected to play in the Big 33 All-Star game after his senior year.
