Pitt wide receiver T.J. Porter has been suspended from the team indefinitely as a result of an arrest Feb. 22 for driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license. He had been scheduled for a March 3 preliminary hearing, but that has been postponed until April 1.
It is the second offense for Porter, who was arrested May 5, 2008, for DUI, purchasing alcohol as a minor, careless driving and failing to obey traffic control devices. His license was suspended and he was put into acourt-supervised rehabilitation program Oct. 24.
Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt announced Monday that Porter was suspended for the spring for "disciplinary reasons" but failed to elaborate. A search of public court records turned up Porter's arrest in February and May 2008.
