Pitt freshman center Steven Adams injured an ankle in practice Saturday, according to a university source. The severity of the injury was not immediately known and it was unclear Saturday night if he would be able to play in the game today against Villanova.

Senior Dante Taylor would start in place of Adams if he is unable to play.

Adams, a 7-footer from New Zealand, has started every game this season and is averaging 7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.
