Pitt upset by Lafayette, 68-65

Pitt fell to an early 11-3 deficit and never recovered, losing to Lafayette, 68-65, Saturday in Easton, Pa.

The Panthers (5-2) went on a 15-2 run with 6:52 remaining to tie the score at 54-54, and the game went back and forth until Lafayette (3-5) made its next three shots, including a Linnel Macklin 3-pointer, to push the lead to 67-60.

Sophomore Brianna Kiesel scored 17 points to lead Pitt, whose five-game winning streak was snapped. Asia Logan, Ashlee Anderson and Cora McManus each had 12 points for the Panthers.

Kelly Loughney came off the bench to lead Lafayette with 18 points and eight rebounds.

Pitt will play Loyola (Md.) in its next game, 5 p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Events Center.
