BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Pitt senior running back Ray Graham has been ruled out of today's BBVA Compass Bowl with a hamstring injury, Pitt announced this morning.

Graham suffered the injury during bowl practices back in Pittsburgh last month.

Graham will finish his season with 1,042 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. He ranks second on Pitt's all-time rushing list with 3,271 career rushing yards.

Freshman Rushel Shell will likely get his first start in Graham's place.

Linebacker Shane Gordon (neck) and tight end Drew Carswell (foot) have also been ruled out for Pitt today.
