Pitt defensive coordinator Dave Huxtable is leaving the Panthers to assume the same position at North Carolina State, according to a statement on N.C. State's website Friday.

Huxtable was hired when Pitt coach Paul Chryst arrived prior to last season, and spent one year guiding the Panthers' defense.

"We appreciate Hux's contributions to our program this year and wish him the best in his new opportunity," Chryst said in a statement Friday.
