Pitt defeated Hawaii-Hilo, 77-45, tonight at the Petersen Events Center in the final exhibition game before next Friday's regular season opener against Mt. Saint Mary's.

Junior forward Talib Zanna and reserve forward J.J. Moore each had 13 points to lead the Panthers.

Coach Jamie Dixon used the same starting lineup that he used in the first exhibition game last week against IUP. Zanna and freshman center Steven Adams started in the frontcourt and Lamar Patterson, Tray Woodall and James Robinson in the backcourt.

Adams had six points and 10 rebounds and Robinson had nine points, five rebounds and two assists.

Hawaii-Hilo, a Division II school, fell behind 27-4 in the early stages of the contest and never made it much of a game. The Vulcans will stay in town and play Duquesne in another exhibition game Sunday night.
