49ers sign former Pitt TE Byham to 4-year deal

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) -- The San Francisco 49ers have signed rookie tight end Nate Byham to a four-year deal.
The team announced the deal with its sixth-round pick Monday. Byham is the fourth of San Francisco's eight draft picks to sign a contract.
Byham played 48 games at the Pitt. He had 10 catches for 108 yards as a senior and was named second-team All-Big East.
