Pitt coach Paul Chryst announced today that two players -- redshirt freshman linebacker Jason Frimpong and redshirt defensive back Roderick Ryles -- have left the team and been given permission to transfer.

Neither player has seen the field for the Panthers this season, though Frimpong was a contender for playing time during preseason training camp.

Both signed with Pitt in 2011 under then-coach Todd Graham as part of Graham's only recruiting class at Pitt.

Of the 21 players signed in that class, only 12 remain on the Pitt roster.
