Pitt retired the jersey of former guard Brandin Knight in a pregame ceremony before last night's game against Marquette.

Knight, who played at Pitt from 1999-2003, joins three other Panthers who have their numbers retired -- Don Hennon, Billy Knight and Charles Smith.

Knight, the 2002 Big East player of the year and now an assistant coach under Jamie Dixon, set a school record with 785 assists.

"This is the best place to play in the country," Knight said in remarks before the game. "We have the best fans. I love all of you."
