The day was cold and so it seemed were the Pirates in their seventh home opener at PNC Park.

The Pirates brought barely a peep out of the capacity crowd of 38,429, largely because they brought barely a pop out of their bats -- just three hits -- in losing, 3-0, to the St. Louis Cardinals Monday afternoon.
