Pirates will open 2013 season at home against Cubs

CINCINNATI -- The Pirates will open the 2013 season at PNC Park against the Chicago Cubs on April 1, according to the schedule released today.

The Pirates play the Seattle Mariners, Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Angels, Oakland A's, Houston Astros and Texas Rangers in interleague play next season. The Mariners visit PNC Park for the first time since 2004, and the Astros, Tigers and A's are all coming to Pittsburgh.

The Astros are currently in the National League Central but will move to the American League West after this season.

The Philadelphia Phillies come to town during the week of July 4.
