The Pirates are distributing postseason ticket information to season ticket holders along with their 2013 season ticket renewal forms, team president Frank Coonelly announced Friday.
The Pirates entered Friday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals with a 65-53 record, six games back of the Cincinnati Reds in the NL Central and a game ahead of the Cardinals and San Francisco Giants in the race for the second NL wild card spot.
"Our fans have waited far too long to get a letter like they will receive in the mail tomorrow," Coonelly said. "They deserve to have that letter.
Season ticket holders have the first chance at postseason tickets, which range in price from $12 in the upper deck for a potential wild card play-in game to $350 for the Lexus Club in the World Series.
Single-game tickets will go on sale in late September, at higher prices than those available to season ticket holders. The Pirates will reward the season ticket holders in the postseason ticket process, Coonelly said.
"Those are the fans that have been with us through thick and thin, and far too much thin," he said.
