Pirates put Juan Cruz on 15-day disabled list

The Pirates put right-hander Juan Cruz on the 15-day disabled list Saturday because of right shoulder inflammation.
They recalled right-hander Evan Meek from Class AAA Indianapolis to take Cruz's place on the active roster.
Meek had a 2.27 ERA in 27 appearances for Indianapolis, allowing nine earned runs in 362/3 innings. He appeared in 10 games for the Pirates this year and allowed nine earned runs in 102/3 innings.
