Pirates closer Hanrahan placed on bereavement list after grandmother's death

The Pirates placed closer Joel Hanrahan on the bereavement list and recalled right-handed reliever Daniel McCutchen from Class AAA Indianapolis this afternoon.
Hanrahan will attend funeral services in Iowa for his grandmother, who died Wednesday. He is expected to rejoin the team Sunday.
McCutchen, who spent most of last season with the major league club, is 2-2 with a 2.49 ERA in 21.1 innings with Indianapolis this season.
