Pirates acquire right-hander Rowland from Diamondbacks

The Pirates acquired Saturday right-hander Robby Rowland from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for right-hander Brett Lorin, whom the Diamondbacks selected in the December Rule 5 draft.
Rowland, 20, went 2-7 with a 8.07 ERA at rookie-level Missoula last season. The Diamondbacks took him in the third round of the 2010 draft.
This trade allows the Diamondbacks to assign Lorin to one of their minor league affiliates without having to offer him back to the Pirates.
