In an intriguing move, the Penguins today recalled winger and enforcer Steve MacIntyre from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League.

There was no indication whether he will be in the lineup Saturday when the Penguins play their regular-season finale against Philadelphia, but that game already was expected to have a charged atmosphere because the two bitter rivals will be meeting in a first-round playoff series next week and there has been a lot of harsh rhetoric between the clubs this week.

MacIntyre, 31, signed with the Penguins last summer. He has played in just 11 games at the NHL level this season, none since Jan. 24.

The Flyers' enforcer, Jody Shelley, is currently on their roster.
