Penguins center Evgeni Malkin today was named one of three finalists for the Hart Trophy, which goes to the NHL's MVP.

Malkin, 25, led the league with 109 points, including his first 50-goal season.

The other finalists are Tampa Bay forward Steven Stamkos, who had a league-high 60 goals, and New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist, who was among the NHL leaders in wins (39), goals-against average (1.97), save percentage (.930) and shutouts (eight).

The voting was conducted at the end of the regular season by members of the Professional Hockey Writers Association.

Malkin will collect his Art Ross Trophy for being the scoring champion and find out if he wins the Hart at the annual NHL awards show June 20 in Las Vegas.
