The Penguins will offer free admission to fans for all training-camp sessions at Consol Energy Center next week.

Nothing has been finalized yet, but the first day of workouts is expected to be Monday.

In addition to opening training camp to the public, the Penguins have unveiled a series of gestures intended to reward -- or, in some cases, win back -- members of their fan base.

Those include:

• Free selected concession items for the first four home games. Fans will be required to present a voucher good for three items to obtain those.

• A 50 percent reduction in the price of all merchandise at "PensGear" stores on the day of the first four home games.

• A week-long series of contests leading up to the home opener that will allow fans to win items such as a pair of tickets to every home game this season, a road trip to a game in New York and autographed jerseys, among others.

The Penguins plan to provide single-game ticket information when the NHL schedule is released.
