The Penguins today reassigned rookie winger Beau Bennett to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League.

Bennett, 21, a first-round pick in the 2010 NHL draft, had one goal, two assists over his first eight NHL games. He was recalled from the AHL in mid-February.

Bennett turned pro last spring following his sophomore year at Denver University. He spent the first several months of this season with Wilkes-Barre while the NHL was shut down by a lockout, although he was invited to the Penguins' short training camp in January.
