The first four of the Penguins' six scheduled preseason games have been wiped out. The NHL today canceled preseason games through Sept. 30 because of the ongoing lockout.

The Penguins will lose home games next Wednesday against Detroit and Sept. 29 against Columbus. The two road games affected were Monday at Columbus and Sept. 30 at Chicago.

The team's two remaining exhibition games -- Oct. 3 at Detroit, and Oct. 5 at home against Chicago -- are in jeopardy unless there is a quick resolution to the impasse between the league and its players association over a new collective bargaining agreement. League owners locked out the players Saturday night when the previous CBA expired.
