THIRD PERIOD: With Hurricanes defenseman Dennis Seidenberg hounding him from behind, Penguins center Evgeni Malkin emerges from behind the Carolina net. From the right of the crease, Malkin flicks a rising backhander over the left shoulder of goaltender Cam Ward. The goal was Malkin's third of the game and his first career playoff hat trick. Seidenberg and Ward played Malkin perfectly, but they still couldn't prevent his amazing shot.
