Cup ratings up 17 percent on NBC

The Pittsburgh television market earned a 26.5 average rating and a 43 share for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup final Saturday night on NBC and a 31.7 rating and 43 share for Game 2 Sunday, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Overall, Games 1 and 2 in the rematch between the Penguins and Detroit Red Wings averaged a 2.8 rating and 5 share nationally. That's a 17 percent increase from last year, when the first two games airing on NBC were Games 3 and 4.
Tuesday night's Game 3 on Versus, which does not have the same distribution as NBC, received a 26.1 rating in Pittsburgh, reaching more than 300,000 households.
