Agent Pat Brisson says Penguins center Sidney Crosby will at least consider playing in Europe if the NHL is shut down by a lengthy labor dispute in 2012-13.

"If, at one point, there's a lockout and the lockout goes long ... Sidney wants to play hockey," Brisson said. "Of course he would consider alternatives."

Brisson added that Crosby is one of many players represented by his agency, CAA, about whose services European teams have inquired in the event the NHL season is disrupted.

"We were approached," he said.

Brisson added that he "can't put any time frame" on when Crosby would consider looking for work outside the NHL, but said he's "feeling great" and preparing for the Penguins' training camp, which is scheduled to start Sept. 21.

"His mind now is to get ready for a season," Brisson said.
