Travel Notes: Confluence plans Old Home Day, Peek'n Peak to hold triathlon

Confluence will celebrate Old Home Day on Saturday with an art exhibit, bake/lunch sale, children's activities, town-wide yard sale, a musical instrument "petting zoo," a music jam, a barbecue chicken dinner and a free concert by the Wildcat Regiment Band.
The major venues for most of the events will be the bandstand in the Town Park and the Confluence Creative Arts Center on nearby Williams Street.
The annual celebration is sponsored by the Confluence Tourism Association, the Turkeyfoot Valley Historical Society, the Confluence Volunteer Fire Department, the Somerset County Tourism Grant Program and the arts center.

Peek'n Peak Resort and Spa in Findley, N.Y., is holding its first "Race to the Peak" triathlon on July 15. The triathlon, consisting of swimming, biking, and running, will also include awards, giveaways, refreshments, food and more.
The race, beginning at 9 a.m., involves a .4-mile swim in Findley lake, a 15-mile bike ride and a 3.5-mile mountain run. The swim will start on the east side of Findley Lake and consists of a lap around the island. The bike ride, which includes some hills, begins at Camp Findley and finishes at the ski resort. The run begins at the ski lodge parking lot and will trek up Canterbury Drive; the course is designed to be challenging, but scenic.
