LONDON -- Western Pennsylvania's hopes of welcoming a freestyle wrestler back to the region with an Olympic gold medal came to an abrupt end Saturday afternoon when two Azerbaijan wrestlers took down Waynesburg's Coleman Scott and Wexford's Jake Herbert.

Scott fell in the semifinals of the 60-kilogram (about 132 pounds) division to Azerbaijan's Toghrul Osgarov. Because Scott won his first two matches, he is guaranteed a chance at a bronze medal Saturday night.

Herbert fell in the quarterfinals of the 84-kilogram (about 185 pounds) division to Azerbaijan's Sharif Sharifov, the 2011 world champion. Herbert is still alive for a chance at a bronze medal, and will wrestle tonight in the repechage, which gives the three wrestlers who lost to Sharifov a chance to grapple with each other.
