LONDON -- Kennedy native Cassidy Krug's dream of winning an Olympic medal is alive for at least one more day.

Krug, 27, a graduate of Montour High, finished fifth at the 3-meter springboard diving semifinals on Saturday afternoon with a five-dive total of 345.60 points -- a major improvement over Friday's 320.10 in the preliminary round.

Sunday's finals will start at 2 p.m. Eastern time.

In the semis, Krug finished behind China's Wu Minxia (394.40), Italy's Tania Cagnotto (362.10), China's Zi He (354.50) and Canada's Jennifer Abel (353.25). American Christina Loukas finished behind Krug in sixth with a 339.75.
