LONDON -- Kennedy native Cassidy Krug advanced to the semifinals of the women's 3-meter springboard Olympic diving competition this afternoon, finishing 10th out of 30 divers with a score of 320.10.

Eighteen divers advanced to Saturday's semis, and for Montour High School alumna Krug to advance to Sunday's final, she'll have to make the top 12.

This was not Krug's best day. But scores are not cumulative through the three-day event, so she will start the semis, which begin at 9:30 a.m. Eastern, with a clean slate.

As expected, the Chinese divers established themselves as the team to beat. Minxia Wu finished in first with a 387.95, followed by Zi He's 363.85.

American Christina Loukas, who finished second to Krug at U.S. trials, came in seventh with 330.45.
