Lake Erie tributaries (Erie County): Weather was harsh and most creeks were iced over, but a few anglers braving the elements reported limited steelhead success on spawn sacks through open patches on lower Elk Creek and the mouth of Trout Run. A soft 3 inches of ice was reported on Misery Bay. Beginning Sunday, temperatures were expected to rise into the 40s, with a 60 percent chance of showers predicted Monday.
Pymatuning Reservoir, Conneaut Lake (Crawford County): Some ice fishing with limited success was reported, but ice was slushy and inconsistent.
Brady's Run Lake (Beaver County): Shore anglers fishing open water patches reported panfish catches, but cautioned that ice was too thin for safe ice fishing.
Quemahoning Reservoir (Somerset County): Anglers fishing the clear open water reported catches of northern pike, with activity near the Green Bridge and tailrace.
Laurel Hill Lake (Somerset County): A state stocking of rainbow trout occurred Wednesday.
Youghiogheny River (Somerset County): Wednesday the state stocked rainbow trout from the tailrace to Casselman River.
High Point Lake (Somerset County): Ice was reported, but local anglers said it was too thin for safe ice fishing.
Cross Creek Lake (Washington County): Ice was reported, but local anglers said it was too thin for safe ice fishing.
Canoe Lake (Blair County): Anglers reported pulling crappies, large mouths, chain pickerels and perch through solid ice. A state stocking of rainbow trout is scheduled for Feb. 11.
