The steelhead were on the move following two days of rain and increased flow, and lots of chromers were caught particularly on lower Elk and Walnut creeks, and at the mouth of Trout Run. Continued rains and a drop in temperature were predicted for this weekend ??? that and holiday vacations were expected to result in high angler pressure. The state Fish and Boat Commission recommends avoiding crowds by targeting steelheads and brown trout at North East Marina. Poaching and other illegal activities have been observed throughout the region. If you witness a violation call the PFBC northwest region office at 814-337-0444 or Walnut Creek Access Area at 814-833-2464.
