Lake Erie tributaries (Erie County): Good flow and green tint at lower Elk and Walnut creeks, where lots of anglers on holiday vacation caught lots of steelheads. Egg sacks, single eggs, shiners, chartreuse jigs, egg patterns, sucker spawn and Crystal Meth flies were productive. The state Fish and Boat Commission noted light angler pressure despite the presence of fish at Crooked Creek. East of the peninsula chromers were caught at the larger creeks. If the clouds clear, the full moon could improve fishing for night anglers at the Walnut Creek access Area. If you witness poaching or fishing violations contact PFBC authorities at the 814-833-2464 or 814-337-0444.
Lake Pleasant (Erie County): An angler reported the release of several trout caught on mealworms. The lake was stocked Dec. 10.
Pymatuning Reservoir (Crawford County): Several nice walleyes were caught this week.
Conneaut Lake (Crawford County): A 35-inch muskie caught from shore was released Monday.
Kahle Lake (Clarion County): Despite the drawdown, anglers continued to catch good-sized panfish.
Pine Creek (Allegheny County): Despite heavy flow a pair of nymphers released several trout below the abandoned railroad bridge in the Delayed Harvest Artificial Lures Only area.
Loyalhanna Creek (Westmoreland County): As the water dropped, anglers reported good fishing in upper end of the Delayed Harvest Artificial Lures Only area.
Allegheny River (Armstrong County): Walleyes were active, particularly at creek mouths.
Youghiogheny River (Somerset County): Fly anglers released trout at the tailrace. Wooly Buggers worked.
