Canon-McMillan ended Central Dauphin's four-year reign and the longest win streak in Pennsylvania history Friday night, while moving within one victory of a PIAA Class AAA Team Tournament title at Hershey's Giant Center.

The Big Macs posted a 28-25 victory against the Rams in the semifinals, thus ending Central Dauphin's 95-match win streak, which dated to 2008. Canon-McMillan (25-0) becomes the sixth WPIAL team to earn a berth in the PIAA final. The Big Macs will face District 10 champion Erie McDowell (17-1) for the title at 1 p.m. today.

The difference in the showdown was the bonus points scored by five Canon-McMillan wrestlers. Cody Wiercioch (182), Alex Campbell (220), Dalton Macri (113) and Solomon Chishko (138) recorded major decision victories for the Big Macs. Connor Schram (120) registered a pin.

"We got the bonus points we needed and kept their bonus points to a minimum. Everybody was a hero tonight," said Canon-McMillan coach Chris Mary.

Canon-McMillan earned its semifinal berth with a 56-13 win against District 2 champion Delaware Valley. Central Dauphin (22-1) earned its fifth consecutive semifinal spot with a 51-18 win against District 12 champion La Salle College.

Chishko (138), Sammy Minor (145), Dario Dobbin (152) and Alex Campbell (220) had pins against Delaware Valley for the Big Macs.

Only two WPIAL teams have won PIAA team tournament titles in the 14-year history of the tournament.

Connellsville claimed a Class AAA title in '05, and Burrell won a Class AA crown in '08.
