Peters Township won a PIAA team championship in Hershey last weekend, and a return trip to Chocolate Town this weekend was sweet again for two Peters Township players.

Peters Township sophomores Sara Komer and Abby Cummings won the PIAA Class AAA doubles championship Saturday at Hershey Racquet Club with a 6-4, 6-3 victory against Oakland Catholic's Nicole Cyterski and Megan Wasson.

It was the second doubles championship in a row for Komer. Last year, she teamed with Stephanie Smith and claimed gold.

Komer and Cummings were the only WPIAL players to come back from Hershey with gold medals, but two others came close to winning singles titles.

Mt. Lebanon's Callie Frey lost to Plymouth-Whitemarsh's Cristina Kaiser, 7-5, 6-3, in the Class AAA championship. A WPIAL girl had won three consecutive Class AAA titles and eight of the past nine.

In Class AA, Quaker Valley's Spencer Caravaggio lost in the title match to Wyomissing's Audrey Ann Blakely, 6-4, 6-4.
