WPIAL Class AAA: Hampton surpasses Hollidaysburg

Anthony Bianco had first-half touchdown runs of 4, 8 and 68 yards to lead Hampton to a 28-14 win against host Hollidaysburg in the Greater Allegheny Conference.

The Talbots (5-1, 4-1) and Golden Tigers (3-3, 3-2) entered the week tied for second place in the conference, but it was all Talbots in the first half, as they jumped out to a 28-0 lead at the break.

Bianco finished with 98 yards rushing on 14 carries. Frank Bello had Hampton's other touchdown on a 4-yard run.

Hollidaysburg's Brian Urban and Reid Miller scored on runs of 1 and 3 yards, respectively.

OTHER GAMES
Montour 50, Chartiers Valley 9

The top-ranked Spartans (6-0, 5-0) led 28-0 after the first quarter on their way to an easy Parkway Conference victory over the host Colts (2-4, 1-4).

Quarterback Tynen Greer threw for 117 yards and a touchdown and ran for a 29-yard score. Seven different Montour players scored a touchdown in the contest.

Ryan O'Connell found the end zone on a 1-yard run for Chartiers Valley's lone touchdown.

Central Valley 42, Moon 9

Robert Foster scored touchdowns on a 42-yard run, 26-yard reception and 80-yard kick return to lead the No. 2 Warriors (5-1, 5-1) to a Parkway win against the visiting Tigers (1-5, 1-5).

Foster finished the game with 210 all-purpose yards.

Central Valley's JaQuan Pennington added two touchdowns, scoring on a 31-yard run and a 40-yard fumble return.

New Castle 51, Blackhawk 25

Julian Cox scored on runs of 4 and 9 yards and threw a 55-yard touchdown pass to Jake McPhatter to lead the host Hurricanes (3-3, 2-3) to a Parkway Conference win against the Cougars (1-5, 1-4).

Jalen Holmes and Malik Hooker each added two touchdown runs for New Castle. Hooker finished with 173 yards rushing.

Blackhawk's Cole Chiappialle ran the ball 17 times for 239 yards and four touchdowns in a losing effort.

Thomas Jefferson 45, Laurel Highlands 6

Jake Farrell ran for 106 yards and scored on rushes of 47, 11 and 5 yards to lead the No. 4 Jaguars (6-0, 5-0) to a Big Nine Conference win against the visiting Mustangs (0-6, 0-5).

Thomas Jefferson's Joe Carroll came into the game leading the WPIAL with 21 touchdown passes and added two more to his total Friday.

Hopewell 10, Ambridge 6

Stefan Mrkonja scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter to lift the host Vikings (3-3, 3-3) to a Parkway Conference win against the Bridgers (2-4, 2-3).

Adam Murray and Mike Tempalski both eclipsed 100 yards rushing for Hopewell. Murray rushed 23 times for 101 yards and Tempalski had 12 rushes for 100 yards.

Mars 44, Uniontown 0

Josh Schultheis rushed 16 times for 204 yards and scored on runs of 1, 60, 44 and 3 yards to lead the No. 3 Planets (6-0) to a non-conference win against the visiting Red Raiders (1-5). Mars outgained Uniontown, 447-155, in the contest.

Indiana 41, Greensburg Salem 23

Sean Thompson threw three touchdown passes and ran for a score as the host Indians (2-4, 2-4) took down the Golden Lions (1-5, 1-5) in Greater Allegheny Conference action.

Thompson connected with Darrious Carter on scoring strikes of 15 and 9 yards and hit Nick Cornell on a 46-yard touchdown pass. Thompson finished 6 for 9 for 118 yards.

Highlands 41, Derry Area 13

The Golden Rams (2-4, 2-4) led 41-0 after three quarters as they throttled the visiting Trojans (1-5, 0-5) in a Greater Allegheny Conference matchup.

Elijah Jackson had touchdown runs of 86 and 3 yards and finished with 147 yards rushing for Highlands.

Ringgold 34, Albert Gallatin 6

Joey Wall scored on a 16-yard fumble return, 36-yard reception and 51-yard run in the first quarter to lift the visiting Rams (4-2, 4-2) to a Big Nine win against the Colonials (0-6, 0-5).

Belle Vernon 26, Trinity 17

Travis Snyder ran for a score and connected with Adam Ferita on touchdown passes of 36 and 3 yards to lead the Leopards (2-4, 2-3) to a Big Nine Conference victory against the host Hillers (3-3, 3-2).

Belle Vernon also got a big day from Anthony Levis, who ran for 245 yards on 36 carries.

West Allegheny 35, Steel Valley 7

Nick Halbedl rushed for two touchdowns and Andrew Koester threw for 310 yards and a touchdown to lead the visiting Indians (5-1) to a blowout win on the road against the Class AA Ironmen (3-3).
