WPIAL Class AA Roundup: Beaver outlasts AAA Blackhawk

Jeremy Teams returned a blocked punt 28 yards for a touchdown with 2:09 remaining to cap a furious comeback by host Beaver (5-0) in a 41-40 win Friday night against Class AAA Blackhawk (1-4).
Blackhawk led, 40-21, with under eight minutes to play in the fourth quarter. Beaver's comeback was fueled by Austin Ross, who tossed a 37-yard touchdown pass and rushed for a6-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to pull the Bobcats to within 40-35 with 3:10 left before the special-team heroics.
Cole Chiappialle rushed for 227 yards and Chandler Kincade passed for 225 yards for the Cougars, who outgained Beaver 512-296.
Mount Pleasant's defense forced three turnovers and returned two of them for scores in an Interstate Conference win against visiting Yough (2-3, 2-3). Six different players scored for the Vikings (5-0, 5-0), including Joey Paul, who returned a fumble 38 yards for a score, and Tim Hostettler, who returned an interception 48 yards for another score.
Top-ranked Aliquippa (5-0, 3-0) shut out host Mohawk (1-4, 1-3) in the Big Seven Conference.
Dakota Datz carried the ball 30 times for 223 yards and three touchdowns to help previously winless Southmoreland (1-4, 1-3) defeat visiting Waynesburg (1-4, 1-3) in the Interstate Conference.
Jon Cleek kicked a 23-yard field goal with nine seconds left in regulation to break a 14-14 tie and lift host Freedom (2-3, 2-2) past New Brighton (1-4, 1-3) in the Midwestern Conference. Freedom trailed, 14-7, at halftime.
Brandon Murn scored three touchdowns and Dustin Anderson threw for two touchdowns to help South Allegheny (4-1, 3-1) defeat Burgettstown (0-5, 0-4) in a Century Conference game at Glassport Stadium.
Patrick O'Malley threw three touchdown passes and returned an interception 15 yards for another score to help Steel Valley (3-2, 3-2) hold off host Quaker Valley (2-3, 2-3) in the Century Conference. The Ironmen led, 40-14, in the third quarter before the Quakers rallied behind three late touchdown passes from Burke Moser.
Dan Stratton's second touchdown pass of the game to Elijah Cottrill came in the first overtime and lifted Beaver Falls (4-1) past Keystone Oaks (0-5) in a non-conference game. Keystone Oaks rallied from a 21-7 halftime deficit to force overtime, but it was only able to muster a 23-yard field goal on its overtime possession.
Greg Pantuso rushed for two 1-yard touchdowns and returned an interception 65 yards for another to help South Park (2-3, 2-2) jump out to a 20-0 lead, and the Eagles held on to defeat host McGuffey (2-3, 1-3) in the Century Conference.
Jared Meyers scored five of Ellwood City's six touchdowns to carry the Wolverines (1-4, 1-3) to a Midwestern Conference win at Riverside (1-4, 1-3). Meyers finished with 290 yards rushing.
Demetrius Houser scored on runs of 39 and 6 yards as Valley (3-2, 3-2) won an Allegheny Conference game at East Allegheny (1-4, 1-4).
Travis Hall returned the opening kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown, and Brendan Lynch ran and threw for touchdowns to guide Freeport (4-1, 4-1) to an Allegheny Conference win against visiting Shady SIde Academy (3-2, 3-2).
Josh Plocki threw two touchdown passes and Cody Keenan scored two touchdowns to help Deer Lakes (2-3) topple visiting Charleroi (0-5) in a non-conference contest.
