Kevin Hart finished his career at Seton-LaSalle High School as one of the most productive offensive players in the program's history.

He'll now try to bring that productivity to his next school, the College of William & Mary.

Hart has committed to William & Mary, an NCAA Division I-AA program located in Williamsburg, Va. He chose the school over his two other finalists, Richmond, a Colonial Athletic Association rival, and the University of Toledo, a Mid-American Conference program in Division I-A.

"I really liked it when I was down there on my visit," said Hart, a Mt. Lebanon resident. "It was just the right feeling."

Hart put up some monster numbers as a four-year starter at running back for Seton-LaSalle. He finished his career with more than 3,000 yards rushing.

As a senior, Hart rushed for 1,723 yards and 32 touchdowns, was an All-Century Conference selection and was named to the Post-Gazette's Fabulous 22 team. He helped the Rebels win the conference championship and advance to the WPIAL Class AA semifinals.

At William & Mary, Hart (6-foot, 185 pounds) will make a position change. Instead of lining up in the backfield, he'll spend his time as a slot receiver. Hart showed good hands -- along with exceptional speed -- at Seton-LaSalle, as he caught 18 passes for 255 yards last season.

"I'm going to be a slot receiver," Hart said. "They told me that from the beginning and I'm fine with that. I think I will fit well in their offense."

Playing a role in Hart's commitment to William & Mary was the WPIAL's all-time leading passer, Christian Brumbaugh, and Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.

Hart is friends with Brumbaugh, who is entering his sophomore year at William & Mary. Hart also played with Brumbaugh's brother, Luke, who was the starting quarterback at Seton-LaSalle this past season.

And then there's the connection with Tomlin. Hart's father, Mark, who was once a star running back at Mt. Lebanon, is the Steelers' director of planning and development. The elder Hart has a good relationship with Tomlin, who is a William & Mary graduate.
