Seneca Valley's Brown guides Raiders to victory against Mt. Lebanon

Led by three touchdown passes by Jordan Brown, two to Jon Dorogy, Seneca Valley's offense propelled the Raiders to a 32-13 victory Friday night against Mt. Lebanon in the WPIAL Class AAAA quarterfinals.
The Raiders offense hogged the time of possession to keep Mt. Lebanon's Tyler Roth off the field. Heading into the game, Roth led the WPIAL in passing yards with 2,373.
Brown completed 11 of 14 passes for 225 yards, and Dorogy finished with three catches for 136 yards. RJ McCauley caught the other touchdown for the Raiders. Both Dorogy and McCauley also intercepted a pass. Running back Forrest Barnes tacked on 141 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries.
Dominating the time of possession was a byproduct of smooth offensive execution rather than the game plan.
"It doesn't have to be quick," said Seneca Valley coach Don Holl, who also praised his offensive line, "It certainly wasn't by design, but we'll take it however we can get it."
The Raiders defense mostly contained Roth, who finished with 10 completions in 32 passing attempts for 139 yards and one touchdown. He also threw two interceptions.
The Raiders were tough in the red zone, allowing one touchdown in the Blue Devils' four trips inside the 20.
"Sometimes, [effectiveness in the red zone] is just a test of will. Everybody preaches it and tries to get it, but I think our guys showed it tonight," Holl said. "We tried to mix pressures and coverage as best we could, and the kids really did a great job with what we were running."
Seneca Valley opened with a 5-yard touchdown pass from Brown to McCauley.
The Raiders struck again late in the first quarter, when Dorogy turned Brown's short pass into a 44-yard touchdown. Dorogy had intercepted a Roth pass on the previous play.
Mt. Lebanon started its ensuing drive on the Seneca Valley 41 after a 47-yard kick return. The Blue Devils reached the Raiders 9 but Ross threw three incompletions before a 26-yard field goal by Dimitri Orfanopoulos.
Dorogy and Brown connected again with 2:37 left in the second quarter, this time for 84 yards and a commanding 20-3 lead.
