Now that his senior season is over, Belle Vernon star offensive lineman Dorian Johnson says he will focus on recruiting.

Although Johnson has three colleges on his final list, his sights seem to be set on one.

"Pitt is still my top school," Johnson said.

That doesn't mean Ohio State and Virginia Tech are out of it, but Johnson likes Pitt the most for now. He will make an official visit to Pitt next weekend, and visit Ohio State the weekend of Dec. 8. He also hopes to visit Virginia Tech.

Johnson made a verbal commitment to Penn State this summer, but changed his mind after the NCAA penalized Penn State.

Belle Vernon's season ended last week when it lost to Central Valley, 17-16, in the first round of the WPIAL Class AAA playoffs. Belle Vernon finished with a 4-6 record.

"I thought I had a pretty good year," Johnson said. "At times, I thought I could do better, but all in all I tried my best and I think I did pretty well."

More football recruiting

Johnson is one of three heavily recruited WPIAL players who haven't selected a college yet. The others are Clairton receiver Tyler Boyd and Central Valley receiver Robert Foster.

Boyd will make an official visit to Wisconsin Nov. 16 for the Badgers' game against Ohio State. Boyd doesn't have a final list of colleges, but Pitt, West Virginia, Ohio State, Michigan State and Notre Dame are others on his list.

Foster said on his "Twitter" account last week that he was ready to make a college choice between Pitt and Alabama. But Foster backed off those comments and said he will wait to make a decision and will visit Pitt next weekend.

Elsewhere, standout running back Corey Clement of Glassboro, N.J., announced last week that he will play at Wisconsin. Clement had committed to Pitt, but backed out a few weeks ago.

Baseball recruiting

Kent State made it to the NCAA College World Series this past spring. The Golden Flashes have three recruits from the WPIAL class of 2013.

Seneca Valley pitcher Zach Spangler, Keystone Oaks pitcher-outfielder Jared Skolnicki and Allderdice outfielder Keyshawn Dorso have all made verbal commitments to Kent State and expect to sign during the NCAA's early signing period Nov. 14-21.

Some other WPIAL players who will sign with Division I colleges are Seneca Valley infielder Sam Fragale (Virginia Tech), Riverview pitcher Anthony Malky (Akron) and Bethel Park pitcher-first baseman Logan Corrigan (James Madison).
