ERIE, Pa. -- For much of the 2012 season, West Allegheny, with an unconventional and oftentimes makeshift offensive approach, found a way to succeed against all expectations.

Friday night, facing perhaps the best Class AAA team in the state, the Indians managed to connect the pieces for most of the game before the puzzle ultimately came apart.

Erie Cathedral prep defeated West Allegheny 27-13 in the PIAA quarterfinals Friday at Veterans Stadium in Erie.

The Indians (12-2) led 10-6 at halftime, but the Ramblers (13-0) got three second half touchdowns, all involving running back and Michigan State commit Delton Williams, to remain undefeated and move on to the state semifinals next week.
