Dravon Henry had 119 of Aliquippa's 428 rushing yards, and the Quips raced to a huge first-quarter lead on their way to a 51-15 rout of Karns City in a PIAA Class AA quarterfinal game tonight at Central Valley.

Aliquippa (14-0), which won its 15th WPIAL championship one week ago, advances to the semifinals for the second year in a row. They'll face the winner of Saturday's game between District 10 champion Hickory (11-1) and District 6 winner Richland (13-0).

Aliquippa had its way with District 9 champion Karns City (10-4) from the game's early moments. The Quips jumped to a 31-0 first-quarter advantage with the help of four touchdown runs -- two by Henry (6 and 63 yards), one by Terry Swanson (8 yards) and the other by Jyier Turner (69 yards)

Shegog (60 yards) and Swanson (26 yards) added second-quarter touchdowns for Aliquippa, which outgained Karns City, 355-40, in the first half.

The Quips pulled most of their starters midway through the second quarter.

With the mercy rule in effect for the second half, Karns City's first-string offense scored two touchdowns against Aliquippa's second-string defense.

Freshman Kaezon Pugh provided Aliquippa with its lone second-half touchdown when he scored on a 64-yard run.
