Perry's football season ended the way it began, with a one-sided loss to a team from Erie.

The City League champion Commodores (8-3) were routed by McDowell, 61-14, Friday at Fairview in the PIAA Class AAAA Districts 6-8-9-10 subregional.

Perry began the season Aug. 31 with a 56-6 loss to Cathedral Prep. The Commodores trailed, 30-6, at halftime against McDowell (6-5). The Commodores have had the most success of any City League team in the PIAA with 15 playoff victories since 1989. But Perry continued the league's poor showing in Class AAAA. City teams are 0-17 in the PIAA playoffs in the state's highest classification. All of Perry's PIAA victories were in Class AAA.

The Trojans were led by Jake Tarasovitch who rushed for 146 yards and passed for 52 yards and two touchdowns.

Perry was led by Ahmed Turner who passed for 165 yards. Turner threw a pair of 25-yard touchdown passes to Shakeem Cox.
