The North Allegheny High School football team flexed its muscles in the PIAA Class AAAA playoffs tonight, and crushed McDowell, 56-6, at Seneca Valley's NexTier Stadium.

North Allegheny senior quarterback Mack Leftwich had a big game, completing 14 of 15 passes for 284 yards and five touchdowns. He surpassed 5,000 yards passing in his two-year career at North Allegheny. Gregg Garrity had two touchdown receptions for North Allegheny, the three-time WPIAL Class AAAA champion.

North Allegheny actually trailed, 6-0, after the first quarter. McDowell took the opening kickoff and went on a 15-play, 65-yard drive. But it was all North Allegheny after that. The Tigers scored 35 points in the second quarter to grab a 35-6 halftime lead.
