Deer Lakes surges to Class AA Allegheny Conference victory

After being shut out for three quarters, Deer Lakes (3-3, 2-3) roared back with 18 points in the fourth quarter to defeat host Summit Academy (2-4, 1-4), 18-14, in a Class AA Allegheny Conference clash.
Summit Academy took a 14-0 lead into the fourth quarter after a 10-yard touchdown run and a 66-yard interception return for a touchdown by William Johnson.
After a 3-yard run by Brandon Newmaster to get the Lancers on the board, Deer Lakes quarterback John Plocki and wide receiver Zach Bryner connected for two touchdown passes of 59 and 12 yards to complete the comeback. Plocki finished with 162 yards passing.
• South Side Beaver 28, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 7: Cameron McCoy rushed for 226 yards and two touchdowns to lead South Side Beaver (1-5, 1-5) in a Class A Big Seven Conference home win against Our Lady of Sacred Heart (1-5, 1-5). South Side Beaver took a 9-7 lead into halftime and then scored 19 unanswered points.
• Seton-LaSalle 49, Burgettstown 7: Seton-LaSalle quarterback Luke Brumbaugh threw for 247 yards and four touchdowns on eight completions for the Rebels (5-1, 5-1) in a Class AA Century Conferencevictory. Seton-LaSalle jumped on the host Blue Devils (0-5, 0-6) quickly, throwing for three touchdowns in the first quarter, followed with three more in the second to build a 42-0 halftime lead. Ryan Glover scored Burgettstown's lone touchdown with a 1-yard run.
• Laurel 38, Western Beaver 19: Dalton Rosta and Joshua Dando each had more than 100 yards rushing as the visiting Spartans (4-2, 3-2) picked up a Class A Big Seven Conference victory against Western Beaver (1-5, 0-5).
• Carmichaels 48, Geibel Catholic 15: Carmichaels (4-2, 3-2) got three touchdown runs from Josh Mundell and six rushing touchdowns total to throttle winless Geibel (0-6, 0-5) on the road in Class A Tri-County South Conference action.
