Another Clairton star chooses Pitt; 10 WPIAL players picked for Big 33 all-star game

Tyler Boyd, Titus Howard and Terrish Webb liked to refer to themselves as the "Killer Ts" for the Clairton football team, and the trio will stay together in college.
Webb, a wide receiver-defensive back, made a verbal commitment to Pitt over the weekend. Boyd and Howard already had decided on Pitt.
Webb made a verbal commitment to Kent State early this past season. But after Pitt offered him a scholarship in late November, Webb had second thoughts about Kent State.
Webb is the seventh player from the WPIAL class of 2013 to choose Pitt. The others are Boyd, Howard, Belle Vernon offensive lineman Dorian Johnson, South Fayette receiver Zach Challingsworth, Seton-LaSalle tight end Scott Orndoff and Gateway tight end Jaymar Parrish. Orndoff is enrolled at Pitt for the spring semester.
Big 33 selections
Ten players from the WPIAL have been selected to the Pennsylvania team for the annual Big 33 Football Classic all-star game this June in Hershey. Among the 10 are Clairton's Boyd and Howard and Belle Vernon's Johnson.
Seneca Valley also had two players selected -- running back Forrest Barnes and offensive lineman Dean Ketterer. Others selected from the WPIAL were North Allegheny quarterback Mack Leftwich, Woodland Hills linebacker Alex Beasley, Gateway defensive back Todd Jeter, Washington linebacker Jaylin Kelly and West Mifflin defensive end Marcus Martin.
But two of the top WPIAL players turned down invitations to play in the game. North Allegheny offensive lineman Pat Kugler, a Michigan recruit, said one of the reasons he did not want to play was because the Big 33 did not choose his brother, Rob, two years ago. Rob Kugler now plays at Purdue.
Central Valley receiver Robert Foster, an Alabama recruit, said the reason he declined was because he will leave for school in June and Alabama's coaches did not want him to play.
North Allegheny's Art Walker will be the Pennsylvania coach. Two of his assistants are Central Valley's Mark Lyons and Baldwin's Jim Wehner.
